Day 1
After your arrival in Washington, D.C., you will meet your Joshua Expeditions guide then head out for a driving tour of Embassy Row and the National Cathedral. In the afternoon, you will enjoy a walking tour around the mall of the Washington, Jefferson and F. Roosevelt memorials, then take some time for dinner and shopping afterward. The day will close with devotions at the hotel.Day 2
Your day begins with an exterior visit to the White House where you will have plenty of photo opportunities as well as some time for shopping among the local street vendors. In the afternoon, the group will visit the Capitol Building then walk over to the Supreme Court. Following dinner in the city, you will take a walking tour of the war memorials commemorating World War II, Korea, and Vietnam, then conclude the day with devotions at the hotel. (Optional tours of the White House interior and the Supreme Court must be arranged through a member of Congress.)Day 3
This morning you will visit Arlington National Cemetery and the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, where you will witness the ceremony of the changing of the guard. Before leaving Arlington, the group will drive by the Iwo Jima memorial, commemorating one of the most costly victories of World War II. Later, the group will transfer by coach to New York City.Day 4
This day begins with a walking tour of Midtown Manhattan and the surrounding neighborhoods, where you see such historical sites as St. Patrick's Cathedral and Rockefeller Center, home to NBC Studios and shows like Saturday Night Live and Today. Following dinner in Times Square, the group will take a night tour of this famous "Crossroads of the World" before closing the day with devotions at the hotel.Day 5
Your day will begin with a visit to Ellis Island where you will learn about the thousands of immigrants who came to this country looking for a better life. Traveling by the Statue of Liberty to view the torch with seven points for the seven continents, you will arrive at Ground Zero and tour this reverent site that memorializes the events of September 11, 2001, and the rebuilding efforts that are taking place. A walking tour of lower Manhattan will take you to Wall Street, the New York Stock Exchange and Federal Hall, the site where George Washington gave his first inaugural address. Later, you will enjoy dinner in the city followed by a Broadway show, then conclude your evening with devotions at the hotel. (The Broadway show activity will be based on availability.)Day 6
This morning the group will visit one of New York's world-renowned museums, like the Guggenheim or Metropolitan Museum of Art, then enjoy lunch and some free time at Central Park. Afterward, the group will head out for the journey home.Navigation
