South Padre Island Mission Adventure

Day 1

Your group will arrive in South Padre Island and check into your hotel before exploring the beautiful beaches of the area. Dinner and devotions at the hotel will conclude this first day.

Day 2

This is a day for beach adventure! You will join a surf instructor at the beach for a few lessons before heading out on the water. Afterward, the group will take some time to learn about the marine mammals of the area and discuss God's specific design for all of His creatures. In the afternoon, you will enjoy a boating excursion to watch bottlenose dolphins swimming in their natural habitat, then the evening will allow some time for shopping. Dinner at the famous Blackbeards' Restaurant will round out the day before devotions at the hotel.

Day 3

This morning your group will head to Matamoras, Mexico, to begin your ministry at a local orphanage within the Mexican community. You will have opportunity to use your gifts, talents and abilities to serve this impoverished community on such projects as hurricane relief or light construction and painting. You may also be able to lead a puppet show for the children or perhaps offer a music or drama presentation. Your outreach in this community will provide much needed hope and allow you to share your own faith and the love of Christ.

Day 4

Your service will continue on this final day with opportunities to aid the poverty-stricken residents through a local food ministry. You will participate in meal service, clothing distribution and perhaps help with light construction tasks. In the late afternoon your group will bid farewell and depart for home.

Your group may want to include additional activity days for:

• participation in a Spanish language program
• a fishing excursion at South Padre Island
• an Eco Tour of the Shallow Bay and dune ecosystem of South Padre
• kayaking in Laguna Madre Bay at South Padre Island
