A three-hour bus ride will transfer you to the town of Kaluga where your group will settle in at your ministry site, a local rehab center. Following dinner you will participate in an orientation session and then close the day with devotions and prayer for the week ahead.

Days 3-4

You will meet the pastor of the local church in order to discuss outreach and work projects in the community. You will have a chance to meet with the church's youth group, and you may even be able to participate in church services and evangelism in the region. The group will return to the rehab center for dinner each evening then conclude the days with devotions.

Day 5

Following breakfast at the center, your group will travel to an orphanage in nearby Meshchovsk to minister to children who are visually impaired. The orphanage houses approximately 50 children, and during the morning your group will present a children's program and a craft project for the kids. During the afternoon you will have a chance to see some of the sights around Kaluga as you return to the rehab center for dinner and devotions at the end of the day.

Day 6

Today you will visit an orphanage that is home to approximately 150 children with a range of special needs and challenges. Your group will present a program and craft project for the children, and then you will remain in the area for lunch. In the afternoon you will return to the church for a work project with the youth group, and then conclude the evening with devotions and discussion back at the rehab center.

Day 7

Your group will depart from the rehab center after breakfast and return to the church to spend the morning in prayer and fellowship with the pastor. Following lunch, you will say your farewells and then transfer back to Moscow by bus. After checking into the hotel, your group will have a chance to meet with a local missionary then spend the evening in discussion and devotions.

Day 8

Your final full day in Russia will provide perfect opportunity for sightseeing in the beautiful capital city. Your group will visit Novodevichy Monastery, Red Square, and Saint Basil’s Cathedral, and you will have time for shopping on Arbat Street in the historic center of Moscow before meeting for dinner in the city. Returning to the hotel, the day will conclude with devotions and a chance to share your experiences from the week.

Day 9

Your group will begin the day very early this morning as you head to the airport for your flight back home.

NOTE: Your ministry house is a rehab center in which residents participate in a one-year program involving daily agricultural and woodworking activities. The recovery rate of residents is very high due to the work program and a strong spiritual emphasis. The center can house up to 30 residents, and your facilities will consist of bedrooms, bathrooms, and a kitchen.
