Puerto Rico Mission Adventure

Day 1

Your group will take a flight to San Juan where your Joshua Expeditions guide will meet you at the airport then transfer with you to the hotel for check-in. Your exploration of the city begins with a guided walking tour of this Old World Spanish settlement founded by Ponce de León, seeker of the fountain of youth. Its historic center includes many beautifully restored buildings and homes in the Spanish Colonial style, and you will see the very forts that once protected the city from foreign invasion. Throughout the day you will have plenty of opportunities to enjoy the sights, sounds, flavors and shopping of this colonial city. Following dinner in the evening, your group could also opt to take a night-time tour of the historic sites before concluding the day with devotions at the hotel.

Day 2

This morning your group will head to a local orphanage for a full day of service. In the evening you will have some free time to enjoy the beautiful beach before closing the day with group devotions.

Day 3

You will head out this morning for a Catamaran Cruise to one of the country's beautiful beaches for a day of snorkeling and exploring God’s amazing creation beneath the water. At the end of this relaxing day, your group will return to San Juan for a wonderful dinner before closing the day with devotions.

Days 4-5

Your ministry opportunities continue as your group participates in afternoon service projects. You will start off these days with breakfast at the hotel and have some time during the mornings to explore, go shopping or spend time on the beach. Following lunch your group will head to an orphanage located about 45 minutes from San Juan. Here, you will interact with the resident children through play, telling stories, singing songs, performing skits or putting on a children’s fair. Anything your group chooses to do will be a special treat for the children, and you will be able to use your talents to serve them and love them while bringing glory to God. In the late afternoon your group will return to San Juan for dinner at a typical Puerto Rican restaurant, and then close the day with a final night of shared devotions.

Day 6

Your group will depart from Puerto Rico today after an amazing adventure!
 
 
 
OPTIONAL ACTIVITY: Your group could choose the optional activity of kayaking in the Bio Bay, a lagoon filled with billions of bio-luminescent organisms. Ask your coordinator for details about adding this activity to your expedition.
