Mittersill to Munich

Days 1-2

Your group will take an overnight flight into Munich where a Joshua Expeditions guide will meet you at the airport. A private coach will carry you through the heart of Bavaria on your way to Mittersill, Austria. In Mittersill, you will settle in castle accommodations and have some time to explore all the nooks and crannies that have existed in the structure for centuries. Your group will gather together to conclude the evening with dinner and devotions.

Day 3

Following a breakfast buffet, the group will head out to enjoy a day of skiing in Kitzbühl, home of the skiing world championships. If there is snow anywhere in Europe, there will be great snow in this location, which is considered one of the finest mountain regions of Austria. After a full day of skiing, you will return to the castle to unwind before dinner, and in the evening you can enjoy the oversized fireplace or take the opportunity to gaze at the beauty that lies around the castle and its surrounding mountains.

Day 4

Your group will enjoy more of the best skiing in Europe today, then head back to the castle to relax in the late afternoon. Following dinner in the town center of Mittersill, you will return to the castle for devotions and a time of discussion.

Day 5

Your group will take this day to engage with the Austrian community of Mittersill and partner with the church there in missions work. Your ministry may include light construction, cleaning, or just interacting with the people of the town. There will also be some time to tour Mittersill and learn more about its heritage and the people who live there. Your group will return to the castle for devotions in the evening.

Day 6

This morning you will enjoy a day trip to Salzburg, the home of Mozart! A walking tour of this charming village will take you to Mozart’s birthplace, as well as Mirabell Gardens, Hohensalzburg Fortress, and Domplatz (Cathedral Square). You will be able to enjoy lunch on your own and take some free time to shop along the famous Getreidegasse. The group will travel back to Mittersill in the evening for dinner and devotions.

Day 7

Following a final breakfast at your castle, the group will head back to Munich to explore the downtown area. You will see such sites as the Marienplatz, Viktualienmarkt and Hofbräuhaus, and then the group will stop to reflect on God’s creation and what people have done to it throughout history. You will walk to dinner from the hotel and then have a final time of devotions and discussion.

Day 8

After experiencing some of the most beautiful places in the world, your group will the journey home this morning.
