Day 1

Your group will arrive in Cancún and meet your Joshua Expeditions guide at the airport. After a time of orientation at the hotel, you can familiarize yourself with the area, and, if time permits, enjoy the beaches and shops in the afternoon. Your evening will close with a time of devotions and group discussion to reflect on the events of the day.

Day 2

Today your group will travel to the sacred Mayan city of Chichén Itzá, stopping along the way at Cenote Ikil to learn about the Yucatán’s underground rivers. In Chichén Itzá you will see El Castillo, an actual Mayan calendar set in stone, and you will also be able to view the Temple of the Warriors, the Sacred Cenote and the Mayan Ball Game court, the largest in Mexico. At the end of the day your group will return to the hotel for a time of discussion and devotions.

Day 3

Be prepared for a huge day of fun at Xcaret, a unique park where you can explore the diversity of the nature and culture of Mexico. You will have opportunity to coast on underground rivers, snorkel at Sea Trek, visit the wildlife refuge and witness flamingos, jaguars, manatees and many more unique animals in a natural habitat. You could also travel through time in the Mayan village or take a swim with dolphins! After an amazing day at the park, the group will enjoy a Mexican spectacular night show of either folk dancing or the ritual of the Mayan Ball Game. The evening will close with devotions and discussion back at the hotel. (Some activities, like the dolphin swim at Xcaret, are optional and require additional fees not included in the price of the trip.)

Day 4

Today your group will have a chance to reach out and help others. You will spend the today with a local organization that is committed to helping the poor and the hurting people in the community of Cancún, and you will see a side of the city that is rarely known by the average tourist. Your opportunities might include working with the elderly, helping at the food bank or in the medical center, assisting with cleaning and painting in the community, or volunteering in community homes for single mothers or children with AIDS. Your group will work with a JE coordinator to decide how you can best serve the Cancún community. This fulfilling day will close with dinner and devotions at the hotel.

Day 5

This morning your group will take a bus to Playa del Carmen for a morning on the beach. You will have a chance to just relax and play in the sun and sand before the group heads out in the afternoon for Tulum. On the coast of the Caribbean are the Mayan ruins of this ancient city, and you just might get a chance to see the amazing Mayan Pole Flyers near the entrance. After trekking the ruins, your group will head down to the area's white sandy beaches for more sun, swimming and relaxation. There are also optional beach activities, such as snorkeling, in which you could participate. Following dinner in Tulum, your group will head back to the hotel for a final night of devotions and discussion. (Additional fees will apply for optional activities.)

Day 6

Your group will head to the airport this morning after an amazing week in Mexico.
