Job Loss Security Plan

At Joshua Expeditions we are keenly aware of the current economic situation and the concern of families regarding job security. In an effort to help our travelers, Joshua Expeditions has implemented a Job Loss Security Plan beginning with the 2009-2010 school year for all travelers who enroll in a JE tour by August 1, 2009.

Under JE's Job Loss Security Plan, travelers affected by layoffs will be eligible to receive a refund regardless of cancellation date. The amount refunded will be dependent on monies recouped from vendors, such as airlines, hotels, bus companies, and restaurants, and the refund to travelers will be initiated once JE receives reimbursement from these vendors. Only a processing fee of $100.00 will be retained by Joshua Expeditions. Although this Security policy does not guarantee that all monies will be returned, it does allow room for cancellation without penalty. We hope this gesture will provide travelers the assurance and protection to move forward with their plans for exciting expeditions in the current year.

To be eligible for Job Loss Protection, a traveler and/or parent and guardian:

  • Must enroll for a new 2009-2010 JE trip by August 1, 2009
  • Must have had a full-time job at least 6 months before signing up for a JE tour
  • Must experience the job loss after signing up for a JE trip
  • Must show written proof of job loss
  • Must be a parent or guardian of a minor traveler, or must be a qualifying adult traveler on a JE tour
  • Must submit cancellation in writing no later than 1 day before the trip’s departure date and no later than 3 weeks after the date of job loss

Once the cancellation has been approved, affected travelers will receive a refund of monies paid, minus a $100 processing fee and minus any non-refundable payments from vendors. There are no hidden fees such as those for registration or insurance. Joshua Expeditions strives to improve upon the policies of other educational travel agencies who will often retain registration and cancellation insurance fees, as well as deduction fees ranging from $200 - $400. We do regret that JE cannot guarantee a return period since refunds can only be sent after reimbursement from vendors.

At Joshua Expeditions we realize that life-changing events will occur and will sometimes come without warning. We strive to provide our travelers with peace of mind during such challenging times and especially during financial shortfalls.
