Day 1

After arrival at Jekyll Island, your group will meet a Joshua Expeditions guide for a quick orientation before heading to the Georgia Turtle Center. You will participate in a shallow bay study to explore marine bay habitats by wading and collecting creatures in a shallow water environment. After taking some to clean up, your group will head out to dinner then return to the water for a night wade program. The evening will conclude with group devotions.

Day 2

Following breakfast, your group will spend the morning exploring the marine grass habitats while kayaking in the sloughs and tributaries. In the afternoon you will visit the Jekyll Island Tidelands Nature Center for quick hands-on educational experience and see first-hand the many types of aquatic life that make their homes there. You will also work with a marine biologist and seine net to look for juvenile marine species in coastal backwaters. In the evening your group will learn about God’s amazing machines through the dissection of squid and calcareous algae, then return to the hotel for shared devotions.

Day 3

Today you will conclude your marine study and then take a little time to shop in the area before heading for home.
