Day 1
Be sure to wear your Joshua Expeditions t-shirt when you depart your home city for Washington, D.C.! You will be met at the airport by your JE representative then head to your first stop in the District: the Smithsonian museum of your choice. Your group may choose to visit one location or divide up among several museums. In the evening you will have dinner at a local restaurant then take a walking tour around the mall of the Washington, Jefferson and F. Roosevelt memorials. Following hotel check-in, your evening will close with a time for devotions before lights out.Day 2
Breakfast will be served at the hotel prior to an exterior visit of the White House, followed by Lafayette Square and the Department of the Treasury. During this time you will have opportunities for photos and shopping among the local street vendors. Lunch will be in the city, followed by a visit to the Capitol Building and a walk over to the Supreme Court and Library of Congress. Later, you will enjoy dinner in the city and then take a walking tour of the war memorials for World War II, Korea, and Vietnam. The evening will close with devotions at the hotel. (Optional tours of the White House interior must be arranged through a member of Congress.)Day 3
Your day begins with a breakfast served at the hotel, followed by the first activity of the day — a visit to Arlington National Cemetery and the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. You will witness the awesome ceremony of the changing of the guard, as well as tour the grounds and visit the John F. Kennedy memorial and Arlington House. Before leaving Arlington, the group will drive by the Iwo Jima memorial, which commemorates one of the most costly victories of World War II. Following lunch, your group will head out to the USO Community Center at Fort Myer where you will be able to drop off your donations for the troops and learn about this organization and its dedication to our armed forces worldwide. The group will then transfer to George Washington’s home of Mount Vernon. With over 500 acres to explore, you will need the remainder of the afternoon to tour the site. Upon returning to Washington, your group will have dinner in the city and then close the evening with devotions at the hotel.Day 4
This morning, your group will check out of the hotel before heading over to the National Archives to view some of the most important documents in U.S. history, including copies of the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution. During the afternoon you will visit the Holocaust Memorial Museum to remember those who perished at the hands of the Nazis, and then your time in D.C. will conclude with a transfer back to the airport for your flight home.Navigation
