French Alps Mission Adventure

Days 1-2

You will take an overnight flight into France where your Joshua Expeditions guide will meet you at the airport. A private coach will transfer your group to the Christian Retreat Camp tucked away in the French Alps near Grenoble. This camp hosts children's retreats throughout the year and also serves as a Bible school for college students and adults. You will have some time for orientation and preparation for your upcoming days of ministry, and you will be able to explore the retreat center for a while before heading off to bed.

Days 3-4

Your ministry projects begin early today. Over the course of two days you may find yourself in a painting project, minor construction, simple restoration, or helping with a cleanup project. You will have opportunities to interact with students from all over Europe, which will provide excellent intercultural experiences and great insight into how the European students live out their Christian faith. Every task can be used as a tool for sharing the love of Christ with the staff and students you work alongside. The evenings will allow your group to meet together for devotions and reflection of personal experiences.

Day 5

This morning your group will bid farewell to new friends at the camp and depart for Paris, where you will spend your final two nights in Europe. You will visit the Sacré-Cœur and see a spectacular daytime view of Paris, then you will enjoy a light snack and maybe even some chocolate crêpes at the café of your choice. A private coach will take your group past the famed Arc de Triomphe and Avenue des Champs-Élysées, and in the evening you will head to the top of the Eiffel Tower for another magnificent view of the City of Lights. Following dinner, the group will return to the hotel for devotions and discussion.

Day 6

This morning your group will head to the famous Louvre Museum, home to such astounding works as Mona Lisa and Venus De Milo. You will have photo opportunities in front of the world-renowned (and controversial) glass pyramids, and you will have time to explore the endless treasure inside the vast museum. Afterward, the group will visit the famous Notre Dame Cathedral where you can opt to climb to the top of the bell tower, if you wish. Later in the evening, the group will stop at a local Christian church and have one more ministry experience of service and evangelism. The day will conclude at the hotel with a final night of devotions and discussion.

Day 7

After an amazing week in France, it will be time to board your flight for home.
