Big D Excursion

Highlights include: Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza, tours of uptown and downtown Dallas, visits to Fort Worth, Dallas World Aquarium, and Fossil Rim Wildlife Center in Glen Rose, a Dallas sporting event, and ministry with a local children's organization

Day 1
Your group will arrive in Dallas and meet your Joshua Expeditions guide then take some time to check into the hotel before setting out to explore the city. You will first visit the Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza which chronicles the legacy of President John F. Kennedy and the day of his assassination on that very site. The remainder of the afternoon will include visits to more sites in the downtown area. In the evening your group will attend a hockey or baseball game, which will include dinner on your own at the sporting center. Devotions at the hotel will conclude this first day. (Your group could opt for a dinner show at Medieval Times instead of the sporting event.)Day 2
This morning you will travel to Fort Worth and visit the incredible Fort Worth Zoo, and in the afternoon the group will spend some time at the Fort Worth Botanical Garden. There will be opportunity afterward to visit the city's infamous Stockyards and enjoy the only place in the United States that features a daily cattle drive. Dinner in Sundance Square will wrap up your time in Fort Worth, and the group will return to the hotel for a time of devotion.Day 3
Your day will begin with a visit to the Dallas World Aquarium, which represents the waters of 4 continents, 3 oceans and various seas, and contains over 85,000 gallons of saltwater marine life. While there you will learn about God’s intelligent design in nature and how everything has a reason and a purpose. Following lunch, the group will head to either the Dallas Museum of Art or to the Hall of State, which offers a fascinating look at Texas history. Later, you will board the McKinney Avenue streetcars for a sightseeing tour of uptown Dallas, then stop for dinner before returning to the hotel for devotions.Day 4
This morning your group will depart for Glen Rose to explore Fossil Rim Wildlife Center, where you can will see a multitude of animals living in their near-natural environment. There are 1700 acres of open space through which you travel to experience such wildlife as rhino, giraffes, sable antelope and deer. In the afternoon, you will travel back to Dallas and enjoy some leisure time for shopping in the city. The evening will include a visit to Victory Park in downtown Dallas before your group shares a final night of devotions together.Day 5
On this final morning of your adventure, you will have opportunity to minister to the people of Dallas by serving and interacting with students from a local school, church or ministry agency. Your departure for home will come in the early evening, wrapping up a fun time in Big D.Navigation
