Costa Rican Adventure

Day 1

Your group will arrive in San Jose and meet your Joshua Expeditions guide once you pass through customs and immigration. You will transfer by bus to the hotel then have a bit of time to freshen up and maybe, if time permits, shop at a traditional Costa Rican market in downtown San Jose. Following dinner you will return to the hotel for devotions and a time to share the day’s experiences.

Day 2

This will be a day of unforgettable white water rafting! The Pacuare River provides an adventurous ride filled with stunning beauty along the entire length of its twisting, turning rapids. The river runs from the country's highest mountain range to the coastal lowlands of the Atlantic, and it is a safe, but very exciting experience! At the end of this full day, your group will return to the hotel to share a time of devotions.

Instead of white water rafting, your group might choose a catamaran ride to the white sandy beaches of Tortuga Island. You will enjoy great food, lots of activities and a day full of sun!

Day 3

This morning your group will travel to La Fortuna and Mt. Arenal, one of the world’s most active volcanoes. You will make a stop along the way in Zarcero for a visit to a church with some very unique landscaping then proceed to the rainforest for a hike down to a spectacular waterfall. In the evening, the group will enjoy the natural hot springs at the foot of the volcano, and if it is a clear night, you will also get to see the mighty fireworks of Arenal! Surrounded by evidence of God's spectacular creativity, your group will close the day with a time of devotion.

Day 4

Your day will begin with the unique experience of soaring through the jungle canopy on a zip line! In the afternoon, your group will travel back to San Jose via the town of Sarchi to do a little shopping among the local artisan crafts. There will even be a chance to taste some world-renowned Costa Rican coffee! Your day will conclude with devotions at the hotel in San Jose.

Day 5

On your group's final full day in Costa Rica you will work with a local ministry in the San Jose area. Ministry opportunities can vary from light construction projects to Children's Clubs, concerts and evangelistic outreach. Your JE coordinator will help you find the best ministry for your group. At the conclusion of this rewarding experience, your group will have one final night of devotions and take the opportunity to share personal experiences from the week.

Day 6

The group will head out this morning to the airport for your flight back to the States.
