prayer focus: Walking By Faith

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” – Jeremiah 29:11 (NIV)

Whether or not storms come, we cannot choose. But where we look during a storm, that we can! God’s call to courage isn’t a call to naiveté or ignorance. We aren’t to be oblivious to the challenges. We’re to counterbalance them with long looks at God’s accomplishments. Hebrews says, “Pay much closer attention to what we’ve heard, so that we do not drift away from it.” Do whatever it takes to keep your gaze on Jesus! (Max Lucado, “Keep Your Gaze on Jesus”)
