Days 1-2
Your group will take an overnight flight into Munich and meet your Joshua Expeditions guide at the airport. You will then travel by train to Lenggries, Germany, which is nestled along the Isar River in southern Bavaria close to the Austrian border. After settling into the youth hotel, your group will be able to relax from the long journey by going to one of Germany’s premier indoor swimming pool/waterslide complexes. After hours of slip-sliding away, you will return to the hotel to share dinner and devotions.Day 3
The day will begin with a brisk walk along the river to board the rafts on which you will spend several hours traveling down the Isar River into the town of Bad Tölz. There will be some time to explore this alpine town and grab some lunch before choosing an activity for the afternoon. Your group will have the option of two very uniquely German activities: riding bull karts (3 wheeled karts) down a mountain or going for a ride on an alpine slide. In the evening you will enjoy a fantastic German dinner then head back to the hotel for devotions and discussion.Day 4
An early morning breakfast will be followed by a ride on a special mountain bus. From Lenggries the group will travel to Eng, Austria, where the next two days will include hikes from the Alpengasthof hotel. Today you will hike about 3 hours up to the Lamsenjoch hut for some of the most amazing views of the valley below. After lunch at the hut, the group will return to the hotel to clean up and gather for dinner. Devotions and discussion will close the day.Day 5
Another hike will begin your day as the group sets out for Falken hut, a 3-hour hike into the heart of the Austrian Alps. You will stay at the Falken hut for lunch before heading back down to Eng, where there will be a a chance to relax and enjoy dinner at the hotel in the evening. After a time of devotions and discussion, it is quite possible that a spontaneous ping pong tournament could break out.Day 6
On this final day of your tour the group will return to Munich for a full day of sightseeing. After a brief stop at the hotel, you will head to the Munich City Center for a walking tour of the historic downtown area. You will visit the Marienplatz, Hofbräuhaus, Viktualienmarkt, and Frauenkirche, also known as the Cathedral of Our Blessed Lady. There will be some time for a little shopping after pausing for lunch, then the group will stop by Odeonsplatz to learn about the history of this famous square. You may even encounter a Starbucks or two along the way! Making the way back to the hotel, your group will enjoy dinner at the local castle before concluding the trip with devotions and group discussion.Day 7
Your group will head out early this morning to catch your flight back to the States.Navigation
